KUKA LBR iisy 2017-2018
KUKA LBR iisy 2017-2018

Designers: KUKA Design Team, KUKA AG., Augsburg, Germany and Selic Industriedesign, Augsburg, Germany
Manufacturer: KUKA AG., Augsburg, Germany

The LBR iisy is a sensitive, precise and easy-to-use robot that makes automation even more intuitive and opens up new areas of collaboration with people. It has high-quality joint torque sensors in all axes, which react to the slightest external forces and offer certified collision protection.

Its 6.6 lbs (3 kg) payload and 23.6 inches (600 mm) reach are optimized for activities in confined spaces, such as loading, unloading, packaging, reliable assembling or difficult research tasks.

The robot is ready for immediate use, can be quickly and easily reprogrammed for a new task. Its intuitive, easy to learn programming of movement sequences is done by manually guiding the robot at its ergonomically integrated commander. In the case of unplanned interruptions, it remembers every movement that has taken place and can immediately resume work without re-learning.

Its supple, organic design prevents bruising and offers maximum protection. It emphasizes the dynamic appearance and the ease of handling. The body has been reduced to a minimum and trimmed to pure power. In order to give the robot a signature and brand-typical look, its appearance is characterized by gentle edges that are clearly visible but cannot be felt by the operator.

The robot is designed as a long-life product with an average service life of 15 years. High quality of manufacturing process and highest precision of all components guarantee a longterm application. The repeatability is less than 0.0012 inch (±0,03 mm).
