Coca-Cola Freestyle 7100 2018-2019
Coca-Cola Freestyle 7100 2018-2019

Designers: forpeople Ltd, London, United Kingdom
Manufacturer: The Coca Cola Company, Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Coca-Cola Freestyle reinvented the beverage fountain experience in 2009 by offering an unprecedented array of choices in a fun, interactive format. The touchscreen-operated dispenser uses “micro-dosing” technology to deliver nearly 200 drink options – including 117 low/no-calorie beverages and more than 100 varieties that can’t be found anywhere else.

Ten years on, Freestyle is reigniting its product range with the introduction of the 7100; a new dispenser that offers all of the Freestyle benefits in a compact, countertop format.

The new device combines an iconic design language, unique brand experience and the rigorous requirements of the National Sanitation Foundation and food service standards.

The design language embodies contemporary nostalgia – combining Coca-Cola's rich heritage with the demands of the digital age. The unit is approachable and human, deploying subtle cues to invite customer interaction.

Meticulous attention to detail has been paid to the 7100's design - none more so than the backdrop to the ultimate 'pour moment'. This pure white stage features bold cast aluminium levers and highly refined cup rest - all of which is bathed in even light to highlight the inherent cleanliness of the design. The complex demands of the lever, cup rest, drip tray and liquid drain have been resolved in a disarmingly simple manner.

A 24" high resolution display makes interacting with the 7100 a truly sensorial experience. An agile new Freestyle operating system includes a revamped touchscreen menu designed to make it easier and faster for users to find their favourite beverages. The Freestyle team also looked for ways to use the innovative platform to support sustainability priorities, such as efforts to reduce packaging waste. Refillable cups, equipped with RFID technology, have recently been introduced for use with Coca-Cola Freestyle machines at a variety of universities, on cruise liners and at theme parks. These refillable cups directly interact with Coca-Cola Freestyle, conveniently providing preset pours of favourite beverages and new mixes.
