A completely new approach: modern technologies combined with traditional knowhow from wood musical instrument making open up new sustainable possibilities with incomprehensible functions. The vision: to use solid wood (instead of commonly used glued layers) for the production of light  and comfortable spectacle frames, but physically optimized in such a way that they can be deformed when heated and, for the first time, adjusted ergonomically. This innovation offers significant advantages from the design and production (safer, more filigree, rounded), as well as the appearance, to handling by the optician and use by the end customer. Our demand: not to make any compromises. Neither in the material, function, nor in the design.

1. ERGONOMICALLY ADJUSTABLE

Thanks to our patent-pending woodflex® process, it is possible to shape our solid wood frames at will using heat with the standart heating device at the optician. For the first time, this enables the frame to be ergonomically adjusted to the individual head shape in the sustainable wood spectacle sector. Light, filigree, precisely fitting.

 2. OPTIMIZED MATERIAL

As one of the oldest materials of mankind, wood is versatile, but its use is limited? We have shifted these boundaries. Through various processes, we have optimized wood in such a way that it is easier and safer to process, remains sustainably more resistant to external influences and can still be individually adjusted even after completion of the product.

3. RISIK-FREE GLAZING

For risk-free glazing, the locking block is simply opened with a slotted screwdriver. Now the glasses are inserted and the screws tightened again. The frame closes while the fine gap is almost invisible. This precision work is possible thanks to the special quality of the wood.

4. UNIQUE DUE TO PATINA

We manufacture three different color schemes. Traditionally stained frames in the style of our origin - the making of musical instruments. The frames are reminiscent of antique violins.A further highlight is our „noblesse“. It describes a distinguished, elegant appearance. Noble, deep dark and discreetly fiery grains - smooth on the surface, high-quality polished and perfectly coloured deep inside the  fine  wood. Usually  the  pure mountain maple is a beautiful light, almost white wood with a seemingly discreet grain. The extraordinary colour personality results from our premium dyeing process and gives each frame its own unique character.  Our second wood type is walnut. Naturally oiled and seemingly natural.

5. FREE IN DESIGN

Our frames are made in Freising, Germany, in careful handicraft combined with high-tech know- how. They are made from local wood species. By traditional techniques and thanks to the special wood characteristics we can give the frames a unique and organic design – rounded edges due to solid wood (instead of edgy layered and glued wood), entirely detail depths, grain and patina make each piece unique.
