In 1910 William G.Allen patented the mythical hexagonal screw in the USA. In the meantime in 1934 the MoMA in New York dedicates the Machine Art exhibition to technical objects and their beauty which it defines as equal to an art form. The Allen series for Alpi Rubinetterie follows this idea of accuracy and beauty of technical instruments. The shape is that of a fold that from the outside seems dry, but inside it hides a curved sign: straight as the artifice, curved like nature and the human body. Exact and human at the same time.
