Urban Study and Design for Civic Plaza Area of Nansha Yango City | 2018
Urban Study and Design for
Civic Plaza Area of Nansha Yango City | 2018

Nansha Yango City Guangzhou, Guangdong, China

Designer: ISA Internationales Stadtbauatelier, Beijing, China
Client: Yango Group (Guangzhou) Co.,Ltd, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China

Located in the center of the district, the study area is of great significance for the future city “image” of Nansha. It covers blocks round a Civic Plaza and two major Avenues, shares the central landscape corridor with the District’s government and administration center, and will make a central “gateway” for the District. The existing Civic Plaza is mainly made up of hard pavements, in hot and humid southern China, not attractive for residents and visitors at all, no conversation with its surrounding context either. The design re-shapes the central urban corridor, incorporates in the landscape functional public facilities such as next-gen mall, smart office, everyday retails… etc, makes a valuable urban “living room” for the District of Nansha. To help achieve the city’s goal-low carbon, environmental friendly, economic efficiency, 3 key strategies are applied.
