Clariant, a leading global specialty chemicals company, combines financial and non-financial elements with its Integrated Report 2020 (IR), enabling transparency in reporting. The IR informs the company‘s multidimensional approach to creating value for all its stakeholders by presenting tangible and intangible as well as financial and non-financial aspects of the business.

The Target Group
The integrated report is addressed to stakeholders, employees, decision-makers and decision-makers and multipliers.

Communication Goals
Under the title „Into the New,“ the the report provides detailed information about Clariant‘s performance in the areas of environment, social responsibility and governance (ESG) and assesses the impact impact of its business activities, corporate citizenship activities and partnerships of the company against the background of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Realisation
Using scrollytelling formats, the interactive report „guides“ readers through the world of Clariant and introduces some of the company‘s changemakers who are driving innovation with their vision and commitment. At the same time, readers get to know Clariant employees: reports.clariant.com/2020/stories

In order to support the company‘s sustainability strategy, Clariant has decided to give greater prominence to the online available online Integrated Report more prominently. For this reason, the full Integrated Report for 2020, including Corporate Governance Report, Compensation Report, Financial Report and GRI Report, is available online at reports.clariant.com and can be downloaded as a PDF file.

As in previous years, the implementation and realization of IR 2020 was carried out in the proven collaboration of four agencies: Mutabor (www.mutabor.de) was responsible for the conceptual and visual concept, Nexxar (www.nexxar.com) for the digital implementation, Kammann Rossi (www.kammannrossi.de) took care of the editorial storytelling and Sustainserv (https://sustainserv.com/de/) for the integrated reporting with the 306-degree view for Clariant‘s holistic value creation approach. Every year since 2016, the participating agencies have supported Clariant in showcasing value creation, improving interactivity and refining the storytelling approach to present the company even more convincingly.

KPIs & Successes
Company-wide participation in the reporting process increased awareness of the six capitals across Clariant.

Clariant‘s last four integrated reports each scored highly in the Swiss Annual Report Rating, which has been rating the annual reports of Swiss companies for 30 years. This rating is particularly significant as it includes a specific category and award for „Value Reporting“.

As a further step in managing the company accordingly, Clariant has also aligned its business activities with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
