Manufacturer: Kristiina Lassus, Milano, (MI), Italy

Oona rug was introduced to the market in 2020 to enrich the exclusive and unique collection of Rugs Kristiina Lassus. It is handknotted in Tibetan 100-knot quality, in elegant low pile, and made of handspun Himalayan wool and bamboo silk (70-30%).

Geometrically inspired, neutral yet elegant Oona comes in different color tones and is designed to complement refined contemporary interiors.

The RUGS KRISTIINA LASSUS collection has been created for high-end customers who appreciate quality, authenticity, and individuality.

The rugs are hand knotted in Nepal by Tibetan artisans, which makes each piece unique and original, with soul and character. Hand knotted rugs are of superior quality than those generally offered on the market and are made to last for decades.

The collection has been developed to furnish contemporary spaces, both modern and classic, and offers an alternative to oriental rugs. The rugs match well with different interior styles: minimalist / vintage / bohemian / classic.

It is a line that stands out on the market for its uniqueness, coherence and elegance. The collection currently comprises 19 designs and 60 SKUs.

The rugs are made in 80/100 knots quality (by square inch), and with low pile. The materials employed are Tibetan wool, natural linen, silk, bamboo silk and hemp. Being entirely made by hand the rugs request about 16 weeks for delivery.

The production is made to order which makes customizations possible (size, quality, color, design). In addition, bespoke and monochromatic rugs can be made upon request.

GREEN VALUES, SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
The collection is based on green and ethical values: only the best natural materials, hand work, artisan skills, maintenance of tradition and cultural heritage, quality, timeless and harmonious design, long-lasting quality products (product life cycle is easily 20+ years).

No child labor is used in the creation and manufacturing of these products (member of Label Step fair trade organization).

The waste and pollution factors are minimal: yarn waste gets recycled; the production uses only the highest quality dyes; washing is done with mild soap only and all the wastewater is carefully filtered.

The production provides work for a developing country and helps in maintaining valuable cultural heritage and artisan skills.
