RAPTOR Handy applicator is a hose-pumped hot-melt adhesive applicator. bigD was in charge of the industrial design of the product, which means combine the technical requirements with the correct ergonomics for a comfortable and versatile application. This product has two models, with upper hose entry and lower hose entry, to provide a solution to all possible use places.

The design incorporates a suspension system that helps the user carry the weight of the applicator and hose, providing comfort in use. In addition, it has a locking system and a protective handle to give the user safety during the application of molten adhesive. It is important to note that the design of the handle is the result of many formal iterations to find the most ergonomic solution for this work tool.

Another differentiating aspect of the applicator design is the incorporation of a Bluetooth module that transmits the data reported by the applicator to the equipment in real time, making it an IoT product.the designers have created two sets of housings, one for the top entry of the hose and one for the bottom entry. In this way, the product adapts to the specific needs of each user. IoT Inside the applicator there is a blue-tooth communication module that offers information on the status of the applicator in real time.

Regardless of the type of hose inlet, the part that connects the hose to the RAPTOR Handy can rotate 360º. Incorporating this part into the applicator design favors the usability of the product for all types of users. The manufacture of all the parts is carried out with the same polymer, which favors its recycling process.

In addition, the design favors disassembly, which is important for separating plastic parts from mechanical components. The design of the handle, the trigger and the lock is the result of multiple formal iterations until finding the one that allows a comfortable and safe grip for the user. A suspension system was integrated into the design of the applicator to lighten the weight of the hose, making work more comfortable for hours.

Applicator design includes a manual lock to prevent potential accidents and misuses. The design of the parts that house the union between the applicator and the hose are textured to create a visual continuity between the hose and the applicator.
