The Modular Easel System allows artists the widest possible flexibility in supporting canvases beyond a standard one-piece easel’s capabilities. The modular easel system can be configured to support small canvases, extremely large canvases, multiple canvases of the same size, at the same time, multiple canvases of different sizes, at the same time, and canvases in a horizontal position. Traditional easels to date are limited in easel width by the constraints of wood construction materials and wood joinery techniques.

The artist conducting large-scale artistic studies has to limit the size of those studies to the size carrying capabilities of traditional easels or resort to nonconventional methods to support canvases, e.g.
leaning canvases against walls or propping canvases on concrete blocks or chairs or other precarious means. Although many easels claim to have the capability of hosting extremely large canvases, what you will find is a precarious mounting and an uneasy balancing of canvases with a tenuous canvas size to easel carrying capacity ratio. The Modular Easel System easily solves that problem enabling extremely large canvases to stay within the boundaries of the easel’s base of support.

Utilizing the high tensile strength properties of steel and rigid moment joints, with a “NoTools” fixation method at the easel’s member intersection joints, the modular easel system offers artists an effortless method to reconfigure the easel to match their artistic explorations. The modular easel system components can be configured for any canvas installations via a simple change to a different length easel expansion tube and reconfiguration of the canvas support brackets. The easel can be configured with a minimum 30" base width or up to a 120" base width.

Also, easel components can be linked together to form an easel configuration to support canvases in excess of 10' in width. Additionally, with the Modular Easel System’s adaptability, a beginning artist can start with a smaller easel configuration. If the artist expands their canvas formats to increasingly larger format sizes, the Modular Easel System can be modified by simply replacing the easel expansion tubes with longer sized tubes instead of purchasing another easel. The Modular Easel System’s materials, quality industrial-grade components, and durable fabrication techniques produce an easel that guarantees years of reliable service.
