The KUKA KR IONTEC was developed for high-precision welding, assembly, and packaging in seconds in the automotive sector and general industry.
It combines compact design with the largest work area in its robot class and at the same time offers the user optimal space utilization with the smallest footprint.

Special attention was paid to a slim design since its use in industry requires a very high level of compactness of the machine. It can be installed in any installation position, on the floor, on the wall, on the ceiling or in an inclined position, and works reliably in all positions. The design concept and target were to give the robot a clean, robust look and to visualize its dynamic capabilities.

A machine that can accelerate and change direction so quickly must not look clumsy, but should rather be as agile and lithe as an athlete. Organically designed, powerful components give the robot a lively appearance and visualize the performance and mobility of the machine. At the same time, they mechanically ensure high flexural strength and torsional rigidity, which is important for precise, reliable work.

Flowing shape transitions contribute to a high mechanical power flow and extreme physical dynamic properties. The robot has no superfluous cladding elements - each component has its technical function. Together with its slim shape, expensive raw materials are saved and at the same time, the associated reduction in weight causes a significant increase in performance.

Every pound of wasted material was eliminated for less weight and better acceleration. The encapsulated design of the robot with its internal motors and supply lines in the upper half of the robot ensures minimal interfering contours and ensures unhindered use. Purposefully designed cast components contribute to the high heat dissipation from the inside.

Equipped with a waterproof and dustproof in-line wrist and protected motors, the robot is suitable for almost all areas of application. A foundry option allows use in heavy soiling and high heat with an extended temperature range of up to 131° Fahrenheit.
