Gim Hae National Museum Identity | 2021-2022

Designers: CDR associates, Seoul, Republic of Korea
Client: Gim Hae National Museum, Gimhae-si, Republic of Korea

The Gim Hae National Museum is a 'national museum specializing in the cultural heritage of Gaya'. The BI (brand identity) design for Gimhae National Museum was developed as a medium for characterizing the museum as the cradle of Gaya culture. The BI expresses the unique heritage of Gaya intuitively by using the 'duck pattern' and combining it with the 'GAYA' typeface. By expressing the name and the cultural heritage of Gaya directly, the BI conveys ‘Gaya Museum’ clearly. Meanwhile, the horizontal stroke is eliminated from the 'GAYA' logotype to convey a simple and modern image. The color bronze, which is associated with the Gaya culture, is applied to express a sense of solemnity and the identity of the museum. Furthermore, through the typeface that emphasizes the curved image, the logotype conveys Gaya value, which emphasizes the importance of coexistence and harmony.
