The cast stone warehouse bult in 1885 in the Mill District, Kent was abandoned for years. Our client, an accomplished musician, leased the 1st floor to launch a new bar as a force in the revival of the music scene, once known as the greatest underground entertainment district.

The bar construct was conceived and developed through a series of line drawings + model studies. The perforated steel canopy conceals LED light sticks and folded structural steel frames thresholds of serving/served. The inward orientation creates a spatial experience as a social/theatrical stage for spirits and conversation.
