After graduating from the Marseille School of Architecture in 2007, Bastien Beguier joined Christophe Gulizzi's agency and embraced the reality of the profession. In 2011, driven by a will of independence and action, he founded his first agency, Comac, with his partner François Jaubert. That's when he developed his first projects in his name: the old Barn restaurant in Charroux (Allier), the Pavilion, and Square of the city of Gignac-La-Nerthe (Provence).
Determined to share his efficient and pragmatic yet sensible oulook in the architectural world, Bastien founded Baìto Architects in 2018 along his well esteemed partners Arnaud Bensard, Abdelkader Chaoui, Joel Sanguinetti, Matthieu Lebrun, Marielle and Jonathan Inzerillo, and Caroline and Mathieu Ménager.
Deeply rooted in its terroir all the while looking out to the world, Baito - a provence dialect word that means the shed in the vineyards – Baito Architects is above all the story of a group of friends who gathered around a shared passion: the playful practice of architecture.
Architecture is meaningful, formalized through its usage, context, and materiality, but the sensitive approach is essential and comes from the impregnation of the domestic and vernacular architecture of Mediterranean landscapes.
