Biography

Our proposal for the site in Sudstadt, Nuernberg re-imagines the traditional residential city block in Europe,  as a versatile location that promotes integration, connectivity and social interaction, while offering more inviting public spaces to the urban ecology. The new structure offers a contemporary typology in the urban city block for the new Europe, where diverse lifestyles and cultures are encouraged to be celebrated and embraced; increasing great value to the evolving city. Instead of closing off the green space and eliminating public space by building the residential apartments on the periphery, we are strategically opening the block and amalgamate it with the rest of the city. 

The new connections, pathways, promenades and public spaces offer formal and informal temporal events, playgrounds, communal farming and exhibit spaces. These new engaging activities will reinvigorate life into the existing district, and add regional value and integrity. The new housing ill create mutual work and common spaces on the ground floor, where residents can host country thematic consultations, classes and discourses to the city and nearby municipalities of Nurnberg. This will complement the existing professional development classes offered by the Sudpunkt. 

To accommodate for various lifestyles, new co-housing typologies were created for residents to share common areas, such as kitchen, dining, living, and workspaces. The pliable floor plans adjust with  ease for the interchanging demographic. Apartment layouts come with various room options, satisfying any personal preference. The diversity of events and culture will help generate a new quality of life for the district, turning it as an attractive and prosperous hub. Flexibility and adaptability are essential for the success of this new residential and cultural center.

THE OTHER LAND

The proposal is focusing on creating more human, inclusive and sustainable future of these neighborhoods, by developing the theme parks strategies of Dubailand further, and enlarging the biggest entertainment theme parks in the world. We are proposing new theme park destinations and attractions such as SLUMland, ECOMAFIAland, GLOBALMIGRATIONland , WARCITY, LABOURCAMPland to be included as new tourist destinations. 

In the SLUMland for example, Slumcities from around the world are represented in different themed parks. There are West Indies shanty towns, Brazilians favelas, ghettos, South African squatter parks and shacks , Serbian cardboard settlements and Argentinian poverty towns. Every year the biggest international events and conferences promoting comprehensive debate among governments, international organizations and mass media on all aspect related to the slums issues are hosted in the Slum land. The international formal and informal organizations such as Slum Dwellers International, Homeless International, Habitat International Coalition, Cities Alliance “cities without slums”, CLIFF have a big research Institutes and centers in the Slumland. The public spaces and events are organized around formal and informal events connected to THE SLUMS. 

IN GLOBALmigartionland themed organized conference and meeting halls for formal and informal meetings, about the world migration issues, designed for international events, promoting comprehensive debate among governments, international organizations, academia, migrant (legal and illegal) society, mass media on all aspects related to migration private sector and mass media. World renowned research institute and colleges dedicate to place international migration on the global agenda, analyzing current policy approaches and issues to migration. Biggest school and college in the world dedicated to the migrant (legal and illegal) kids and young people. The city featured and temporary and permanent residency. The public spaces and events are organized around formal and informal events related to the migration issues.

All these new theme park destinations will offer unique entertainment experience to the tourists, will bring higher revenue to the people living and working there, creating more diverse and human environment.
